Packs 11-16

There were an amazing amount of cards in this group of packs. We got two turn back the clocks in Carl Yaztremski and Maury Wills. A few all stars in Keith Hernandez, Steve Sax, Ozzie Smith and Dave Righetti. Some Hall of Famers In Lee Smith, Steve Carlton and Tom Seaver.

I love the Seaver card, I have it somewhere in my personal collection autographed by the man himself.

I love the fact my daughter gets into the Turn Back the Clock cards after she had a school unit on the Negro Leagues this past year.

We are just over 31% done with the set. The doubles are coming in droves at this point. And still no Bo Jackson 😢

Roberto Clemente

Hey!!! Welcome back to my blog! Now we are going to talk to you about the famous baseball player, Roberto Clemente!⚾⚾

I know a few things about him.

First, in Spanish, we have learned about him for the unit about Mexican independence day. He was famous, though he died in a plane crash delivering supplies to people impacted by an earthquake. Another thing is that he played number 21 for the Pirates in the early 1970s.
Since we are trying to complete the 1987 Topps baseball project, this is a really cool important card for us. This is because this set is bringing back a special famous baseball player from the 1972 baseball year. Roberto Clemente is an old baseball player people will never forget. It even says on the card, "Turn back the clock." ⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾

Happy reading!😄😄😄😄😄

Packs 9 & 10

Had a great time picking out packs 9 & 10. Some highlighted cards were all time hit leader Pete Rose and Turn Back the Clock Roberto Clemente. Loved the opportunity to discuss both players with the kids and the off the field things that contributed to their respective legacies.

We also have unwrapped our first set of duplicates, 10 packs in that's not too bad. We are now just over 20% complete with the set. I took some time showing the kids how to track the cards in Excel and will move on to letting them write a few posts.
